A local family have donated an incredible £9,105 to the staff at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at University Hospital Crosshouse.

The Jim Moffat Memorial Fight night, a charity boxing night held in memory of Mr Moffat who sadly passed away earlier this year, was organised by Jim’s family.  The night was a huge success and made possible by everyone who got involved and made a donation.

Mr Moffat’s family made the decision to donate the funds raised to the ICU ward thanking staff for the care and compassion they provide to patients and their families at the most difficult of times.

Dr John Allan, Clinical Director for Intensive Care Medicine in Ayrshire and Arran, said, “We are extremely thankful to all the family for their generous fundraising efforts and kind words.

“My colleagues have expressed their huge gratitude to the family for their thoughtfulness and drive to fundraise. It has been a humbling experience for us all. All of the funds will be used to support our incredible staff in the work that they do in the delivery of critical care services in Ayrshire. Thank you.”
