Ayrshire Achieves 2024 Finalists

Recognising your health heroes. This year’s Ayrshire Achieves awards finalists have been announced for those who work in NHS Ayrshire & Arran or the Health and Social Care Partnerships. A judging panel made up of staff, senior managers, sponsors and representatives from trades unions selected the 18 finalists and overall winners in each category.

There are 18 finalists for the six award categories. The winners of Ayrshire Achieves 2024 will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 6 June 2024 at University Hospital Ayr.

The winners & finalists are:

Award categories

Care and compassion

This award recognises individuals or teams who have demonstrated care and compassion towards colleagues or patients and their families. This can also include GP, care home colleagues and staff providing an NHS contracted service. Each nomination should include as much information as you can to describe the difference the staff member/volunteer has made.

Shining stars

This award is for individuals, teams or volunteers who go above and beyond what is expected of them.

Thinking out of the box

This award is for an individual or team who has undertaken something new or different; delivered innovation, reform, or found solutions against all the odds.

It may have improved services for patients, people who use our services, carers, partner organisations, departments, or colleagues within NHS Ayrshire & Arran or the three health and social care partnerships.

Your nomination should include a brief overview of how the staff member/ team has thought outside the box and how the idea has made a difference.

Collaboration and working together

This award is for those who have demonstrated exceptional teamworking and collaboration. The nomination should clearly demonstrate the benefits and impact of the collaboration.

Making a difference with digital

This award is for an individual or team who are doing things differently using digital approaches.

Behind the scenes

This award is for staff who make a real difference without most people knowing about it.

How will the award winners be chosen?

Shortlisting and judging will take place in March 2024, with the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 6 June in University Hospital Ayr. The judging panel will include members of the NHS Board, clinical and non-clinical staff, representatives from the three health and social care partnerships, representatives from trades unions and professional organisations and sponsors.

There will be no more than four finalists in each category. The award winners will be at the discretion of the judges.

What do award winners receive?

Award winners in each category will receive a trophy and a framed certificate. All finalists in each category will receive a certificate. Invitations to the ceremony will be issued to finalists in April 2024.
