Lee joined the board in August 2022 on the back of being appointed Depute Leader of South Ayrshire Council with cabinet responsibility for health and social care. As part of this role, he also sits as vice chair of the IJB.
Lee has been a foster carer for 14 years and is a training facilitator for new foster carers as well as a mentor for foster carers facing challenging issues. Lee recently stepped down from an advisory position on the Polaris foster and adoption board based in Milton Keynes to devote more time to his HSCP role in South Ayrshire. Lee is one of only 7 people in Europe to have created an SQA accredited qualification. He created and delivered this mental health and well-being qualification with his Co-founder to hundreds of young people across the UK before developing online materials to allow charities and youth groups to deliver the course to candidates themselves.
