Linda Semple joined the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Board on 1 September 2018.
Linda has lived in Scotland since moving from England in 1996. She had a successful career in publishing, bookselling and journalism and has worked in many roles in the NHS, focusing on Health Intelligence, Health Economics and Quality Improvement -this includes eight years as an Assistant Director in NHS Ayrshire and Arran. For the last five years, she was seconded into the Scottish Government where she ran a number of national improvement projects, retiring in March 2018 as Head of Sustainability & Value. As well as her strategic and analytical experience in health systems, Linda has also spent many years working for LGBT and Women’s organisations as a volunteer and in the third sector.
Linda is chair of Healthcare Governance Committee and a member of Performance Governance Committee and Integrated Governance Committee. She is a NHS Non-Executive member of the South Ayrshire Integration Joint Board (as vice chair) and through the IJB is vice chair of the South Ayrshire Performance and Audit Committee, chair of the South Ayrshire Strategic Planning Group and a member of the South Ayrshire Budget Group.
