Land and Assets

The land and assets principle of Community Wealth Building looks at how the NHS can design and manage its land, buildings and assets to support delivery of healthcare services whilst promoting broader social, economic and environmental aims. By doing so we will use our land and assets in a responsible way to benefit everyone in the local community and to support community regeneration.

Land and Asset Pillar Aims

Our Community Wealth Building (CWB) Land and Assets pillar aims to manage our land and assets in a positive and proactive way to support delivery of healthcare services whilst promoting an inclusive wellbeing economy, empowering our local communities, meeting community aspirations and contributing to climate action.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Property & Asset Transfers

Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 came into force on 1 April 2017. This introduces a right for community bodies to make requests to all local authorities, Scottish Ministers and a wide-ranging list of public bodies for ownership, lease or other rights of any land or buildings they feel they could make better use of.

To find out more about this, you can access Scottish Government community transfer bodies’ guidance. The Property Services, Strategy and Partnership team will assess all requests relating to the use or transfer of properties in accordance with the statutory responsibilities set out in the act.
