NHS Ayrshire & Arran is working in partnership with North Ayrshire Council to create a specialist centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), as well as the all-age Community Eating Disorder Service in Ayrshire and Arran.

With building works already underway, the centre at West Road, Irvine will aim to change the way the residents of Ayrshire and Arran access and receive mental health care. It will also provide a base for outpatient services for the Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) and Neuro-CAMHS team.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s CAMHS/CEDS Senior Manager, Stuart McKenzie, said, “We are working hard to support the mental health and wellbeing of the population of Ayrshire and to ensure they have access to high quality services. The centre will be able to provide a familiar space for individuals as they receive the support they need to help them navigate the challenges they face.”

Building works are due for completion October 2024.
