NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Annual Review took place on Thursday 3 October and presented the organisation’s performance and achievements for the last year, as well as the challenges that lie ahead.
Members of the public, staff and patients heard about how NHS Ayrshire & Arran is performing, and had the opportunity to ask any questions of the Board Chair and the Chief Executive, as well as member of the Executive Team in attendance.
Chief Executive of NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Claire Burden, welcomed everyone and spoke about the achievements and challenges over the last year. She explained: “These annual reviews are a key component in how NHS Boards are held to account for the significant public investment made in them and are an opportunity to share with the public some of the many successful initiatives and developments launched during the review period.
“We know that the coming year will not be without its challenges. We have identified areas of service provision that require more sustained improvement, and we are fully committed to addressing our system wide challenges to enable NHS Ayrshire and Arran to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients and families.”
Linda Semple, Interim Chair of Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, added: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers across health and social care, commending their commitment and dedication in providing the highest standard of care to our patients, despite the challenges and pressures we face every day.
“I would also like to thank those members of the public and staff who came along to the review, as well as those who asked a range of questions.”
