About the Pain Management Service

The Pain Management Service in NHS Ayrshire & Arran is an outpatient multi-disciplinary team.

It offers a range of different approaches, with the aim of improving the lives of people with persistent pain. Persistent pain is pain that lasts longer than 3 months.

Our values are a holistic person-centred approach to empower people to improve their quality of life while living with a long term pain condition.

This is achieved by promoting safe and appropriate prescribing, providing advice, support and therapy to enable people to self-manage their long term condition.

Following acceptance into the service, you may be invited to attend a Pain Early Information (PEIS) group session as your first appointment.

Clinics are held in different locations across NHS Ayrshire & Arran, both in person and virtual. Telephone and video consultations are used.
