Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating, painful condition in a limb, associated with sensory, motor, autonomic, skin and bone abnormalities (Royal College of Physicians (RCP), 2018).
Prompt diagnosis and early intervention are considered best practice in order to avoid secondary problems and disability related to living with complex persistent pain.
The most recent guidelines can be downloaded from the Royal College of Physicians website: Complex regional pain syndrome in adults (2nd edition) | RCP London
The leaflets below can be used along with your healthcare professional to support in the management of CRPS.
If you do not have a diagnosis of CRPS but think you might have, speak to a healthcare professional. The condition is relatively uncommon and the signs and symptoms can mimic other conditions so appropriate diagnosis is important.
