Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is the name for a group of lung conditions that damage the lung tissue. There are more than 200 different ILDs.

ILDs affect the lungs by causing:

  • inflammation
  • scarring (pulmonary fibrosis)
  • a combination of both
