Social Isolation & Loneliness

Feeling lonely is a natural human experience, we can all experience loneliness at some point in our lives.

However, people with a long term condition such as a lung condition, may be at greater risk of experiencing social isolation or loneliness. This can have a negative impact on your physical and mental health. Staying in touch with friends, relatives and people in your community is good for your health and wellbeing.

For community activities in your area put your postcode into the box on the NHS Inform Directory and see what’s going on near you https://www.nhsinform.scot/
