Getting to hospital for your appointment
If you have a medical need or have limited mobility you can request transport to and from your healthcare appointment by phoning 0300 123 1236 (Charged at local rates from landlines and mobiles)
If you are hard of hearing, deaf or speech impaired, you can contact the Service through Text Relay on: 18001-0300 123 1236.
If you use British Sign Language you can now access the booking line through the online video interpreter service provided by NHS24. You can also contact the Scottish Ambulance Service through the ContactScotland BSL website.
You can also ask your GP or carer to make the phone call on your behalf.

If it is an emergency
You should always call 999 if someone is seriously injured or their life is at risk. Some examples of medical emergencies include:
- chest pain
- breathing difficulty
- unconsciousness
- severe loss of blood
- severe burns or scalds
- fitting or concussion
- drowning
- severe allergic reactions
- choking
- a child with sudden unexpected symptoms
