Winter Vaccine Programme – Health and social care workers
The vaccines will be given to H&SCWs in a number of settings, depending on where you work and the type of role you have.
These settings include:
- In Ayrshire Central Hospital (ACH), University Hospital Ayr (UHA), University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC), East Ayrshire Community Hospital (EACH) and Woodland View wards, delivered by Public Health’s Vaccination Service, alongside peer vaccination in some areas.
- At scheduled drop-in sessions in ACH, UHA, UHC and EACH (please check the AthenA page where details will be updated regularly), delivered by Public Health’s Vaccination Service.
- In community hospitals (including Biggart), delivered by peer vaccinators.
- At Mass Vaccination Centres (MVCs) in community venues around Ayrshire, delivered by the Mass Vaccination Service.
Please note for staff working on the Isle of Arran local arrangements for vaccination will be communicated in due course.
Vaccinations will be offered to H&SCWs in the above settings from Monday 16 September onwards. During the first week of the programme the focus will be on delivering seasonal flu vaccinations for non-frontline staff only. From Wednesday 25 September delivery will open up for frontline staff to receive both vaccines they are eligible for; COVID-19 and seasonal flu.
Vaccinators will be offering vaccinations across a number of NHS Ayrshire & Arran sites for H&SCWs, hosting drop-in clinics, visiting wards and through peer immunisation. Information regarding these opportunities will be shared in huddles, through line managers and published on the Public Health AthenA page. Please note this link is only available to NHS Ayrshire & Arran staff.
