Becoming a registered Allied Health Professional (AHP)

Routes to qualifying as a registered AHP can be different for each profession. Becoming an AHP requires studying to a degree level. If you already possess a degree, it is also possible to complete a 2 year Masters programme for some professions. All programmes are approved by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).

ParamedicParamedics have a highly responsible role, deal with a range of emergency and non-emergency situations. Highly trained in CPR.www.careers.nhs.scot/paramedic

PodiatristPodiatrists are trained to diagnose and treat abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists provide essential assessment, evaluation and foot care for a wide range of patients  www.careers.nhs.scot/podiatrist    
ProsthetistsProvide gait analysis and engineering solutions to patients with limb loss. Provision of artificial limbs.www.careers.nhs.scot/prosthetist
